BIO:

Mark is originally from Burleson, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University in College Station, earning a B.A. in political science. Mark then went on to study at Texas A&M University School of Law, where he participated in mock trial and clerked for now-Chief Justice Bonnie Sudderth, Second Court of Appeals. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Kansas.

Mark began his career as a field landman, focusing primarily on due diligence on behalf of buyers of assets located in the Permian Basin and Oklahoma’s SCOOP/STACK. Mark’s practice focuses on oil, gas, and energy law, and he primarily represents oil and gas companies in their exploration and production operations, with an emphasis on title examination and transactional matters. He has drafted countless Original Drilling Title Opinions, Acquisition Title Opinions, and Division Order Title Opinions. He also has extensive experience drafting curative instruments, conveyancing instruments, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, and other agreements critical to oil and gas companies’ exploration and production operations. Mark also represents and advises landowners in both the sale and leasing of their of their mineral interests.

Mark and his wife, Katie, live in Dallas, where they have lived since getting married in 2015, and now have three children, Anderson, Charlotte, and Price. Mark enjoys hunting, fishing at White Rock Lake with his five-year-old son, Price, running, reading, and spending time with his family.
