Spotlight Attorney - Caitlin Harrington
Meet this month's Spotlight Attorney: Caitlin Harrington!
What's your favorite part of working at Childers Hewett Slagle?
My favorite part about working at CHS are the people. Everyone is so warm and supportive. Furthermore, there is a lot of on-the-job learning during the first few years of your career as an attorney. At CHS, there is a strong open-door policy, and everyone is very approachable in asking questions and providing resources to learn and grow.
What are some career lessons you've learned thus far?
I have learned that communication and trying your best are key. By communicating with your supervising partner and/or work colleagues, everyone is on the same page regarding the status of a project, especially with meeting client deadlines. In addition, by always putting forth your best work product, the editing and processing time is more efficient, and increases your own self-confidence.
Why did you decide to pursue the career you have today?
I grew up around oil and gas from my dad's side of the family, and I realized at a young age how impactful the energy industry is in Texas. When I attended law school, I was interested in property and energy law and joined the oil and gas club on campus. In addition, I took Texas Land Titles as an elective. Those experiences accumulated to the career path I am on today.
Who are your favorite sports teams?
I am a huge Texas Longhorns fan, and I will forever bleed burnt orange! Also, now that I am in the Dallas area, the Cowboys are growing on me too.
What show are you currently binge-watching?
I am currently binging Peaky Blinders on Netflix! They recently came out with a movie, but I am trying to finish the show first.
What’s your favorite holiday?
I love Halloween! I love all the pumpkins, candy, costumes, and scary movies.
What’s your favorite movie?
It is hard to narrow it down to just one - but I never get tired of Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley or the Harry Potter movies.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My superpower would be to teleport! It would make things like traveling so much easier, and I can avoid traffic on my morning commute to work.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
I plan to travel to all fifty (50) states.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Madonna on her Sticky & Sweet Tour! I was a sophomore in high school, and I went with my best friend and sister. I have attended many concerts since then, and Madonna's show is still one of my favorites.
