What's your favorite part of working at Childers Hewett Slagle?
My favorite part about working at Childers Hewett Slagle is definitely the people. Everyone here is so kind, helpful, and down-to-earth, which makes coming to work every day enjoyable. I am very thankful to be in such a great work environment.
What are some career lessons you've learned thus far?
Some career lessons I’ve learned so far working at Childers Hewett Slagle are to always ask questions and to seek feedback on every project. I believe these two lessons are key to helping me become better in my role and understanding why we do what we do.
Why did you decide to pursue the career you have today?
Beginning in high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a law degree because I wanted to help people and be in a career that challenges me daily. However, I was never certain what area of law I wanted to practice. That question was answered while attending the University of Oklahoma, where many oil and gas law courses were offered. I quickly discovered an interest in oil and gas law, leading me to pursue a career in the field I am in today.
What is the last book you read?
The last books I read were The Women by Kristin Hannah and The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese.
Who are your favorite sports teams?
I enjoy cheering on Texas A&M and the University of Oklahoma in any sport, but especially during football season. I have grown into an SMU football fan as well.
What show are you currently binge-watching?
I’m not currently watching any shows, but I am watching all the Marvel movies from the beginning - which has become a longer time commitment than anticipated.
What’s your favorite movie?
My all-time favorite movie is Rocky IV. But I also love any of the Harry Potter movies.
Who is your favorite music artist?
Tracy Chapman
Where would you most like to travel to and why?
I would really love to travel to Hawaii one day. My grandmother was born in Hawaii, so I think it would be really cool to visit there and explore.
What's the first concert you ever attended?
The first concert I ever attended was an Alan Jackson concert in Tyler, Texas, when I was 11.
